3 When King Herod heard this, he was frightened, and all Jerusalem with him,
Prayer Focus: King Herod recognizes that a child born king of the Jews is a direct threat to his reign. And he is frightened. In fact, all of Jerusalem is frightened with him. Everything that follows in this text grows directly from fear. While fear can keep out of dark alleys and from touching hot stoves, it can also lead us down destructive paths. Pray that you might acknowledge your fear, particularly your fears of others, and ask God to give you trust in the Lord.
