Sunday, January 1: Scripture – Revelation 21:5
5 And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Prayer Focus: The first day of a new year we hear, “I am making all things new.” I think I have shared with you before that Brian Blount, president of Union Presbyterian Seminary, writes of this passage: God doesn’t say I’m making all new things. God will make all things new. God is transforming the creation, God is transforming you and me. God doesn’t throw out what God has made and start over with new things. God makes all things new. As we begin this new year, pray that you might not give up on what God has made. Pray that you might wait and trust that God is making all things new.
