Saturday, November 5 – Hymn: Give Thanks for Those Whose Faith is Firm
Prayer Focus: With this hymn we have another text to a tune I know with the hymn “How Clear is Our Vocation, Lord.” Perhaps you are already familiar with these words by Martin E. Leckebusch. I chose this recording because it highlights one of the amazing things church musicians were able to do during the pandemic: create choral anthems when we were all singing alone in our homes. Margaret Monroe was (and is) a master at this and we see a similar creation in today’s video of the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church. Each voice is recorded separately and yet, with editing, they become a choir. Give thanks today for those whose faith is firm. Give thanks also for Margaret and others who help us to sing and praise God in new ways!
