Wednesday, October 19: Scripture – 2 Timothy 4:9-10
9 Do your best to come to me soon,
10 for Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
Prayer Focus: I recently heard a devotion about the importance of companions on the journey. Paul asks Timothy to come to see him soon, in part out of great love for Timothy. Even more, Paul’s other companions are leaving or abandoning him. One has left because of his love for the present world (as opposed to the eternal one). The departure of the other two is unexplained. Give thanks to God for your companions on the journey today. Pray that you might become a companion to one who finds themselves alone.
