Saturday, August 13: Scripture – Hebrews 11:39-40
39 Yet all these, though they were commended for their faith, did not receive what was promised,
40 since God had provided something better so that they would not, apart from us, be made perfect.
Prayer Focus: We do not love God in order to receive an award. We do not help one another to receive a thank you of some kind. We love God and we love one another because those are the two things Jesus Christ showed us how to do. Love is woven into our design as creatures of God’s creation. We love because we were first the ones being loved. Pray today that you might share that love freely without the expectation of anything in return.
