Friday, March 4: Scripture – 1 John 1:6-7
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true;
7 but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Prayer Focus: If there is no darkness in God, then we are not walking with God while we are walking in darkness. We must always qualify this language today for it has been used throughout the history of the church in racially discriminatory ways. The light we seek to walk in has nothing to do with race. The light draws us into fellowship with God through the blood of Jesus Christ so that we might have fellowship with those of all races. Pray for racial reconciliation today and that together we might all walk in the light of the Lord.
