Thursday, March 3: Scripture – 1 John 1:5
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
Prayer Focus: In the first five verses of this letter, the authors are hitting all the keywords from the Gospel and Letters of John: what was from the beginning; eternal life; fellowship; joy; and now light. They proclaim what they have heard. God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. During the season of Advent we explored the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it. Look for the light today. When you grow weary, look for the light. Lift it up for someone else to see. Pray that you might proclaim to someone sitting in darkness today that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. These are some of the ways you might put your love in action.
