Sunday, February 27: Scripture – Luke 9:34-36
34 While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were terrified as they entered the cloud.
35 Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!”
36 When the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and in those days told no one any of the things they had seen.
Prayer Focus: The voice from the cloud declares that Jesus is the Son of God, the chosen one, and commands the disciples to listen to him. The last time Luke recorded Jesus speaking to the disciples, he was speaking about his death and resurrection and their call to pick up the cross daily and follow him. Jesus really meant that! Pray that you might hear the voice of the Lord and listen to him. Also, on this day in which we celebrate with all the families and children who were baptized over the last two years, pray for them and pray for Pastor Molly as she begins her ministry with us. It’s going to be a great day!
