Wednesday, February 9: Scripture – 1 Peter 2:4-5
4 Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and
5 like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Prayer Focus: The second text that we’ll consider this week is from the first letter of Peter. We are familiar with the image of the church as the body of Christ. We are not as familiar with the image of the church as a spiritual house. Just as a house is not built from a single brick, the church is built of many living stones. Consider what kind of stone you are today? In your prayers, remember and give thanks that God has crafted a living stone just like you for the spiritual house of the church.
