Sunday, February 6: Scripture – Isaiah 6:9-10
9 And God said, “Go and say to this people: ‘Keep listening, but do not comprehend; keep looking, but do not understand.’
10 Make the mind of this people dull, and stop their ears, and shut their eyes, so that they may not look with their eyes, and listen with their ears, and comprehend with their minds, and turn and be healed.”
Prayer Focus: We often conclude our reading of Isaiah’s call story with verse 8 – the dramatic answer of yes by Isaiah when the Lord calls. Today, we read two more verses to discover that Isaiah’s call is not to a grand and glorious profession. No, he is to preach to the people, but they will not understand. They will not turn and be healed. He is called to preach, but he is not responsible for the results. Pray that you might trust that God will work out the results if you are faithful to your call.
