Prayer Focus: As we continue through the 7th chapter of the Gospel according to Mark, we find Jesus attempting to get away. The confrontation with the Pharisees and the scribes was tense and his disciples did not seem to understand, so Jesus tries to get away. He leaves Galilee and enters the region of Tyre, which is Gentile territory. There he enters a house, but even there he could not escape notice. Have you ever just needed to get away? Have the pressures and burdens been too great to carry another step? Follow Jesus today and take a break. Even if just for ten minutes or an hour. Set the burdens down, go take a walk, turn off your phone, read a book, watch television. Pray that you might have a few minutes of needed sabbath today. Don’t worry, the world will not end while you are away.
