6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.”
7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a boy; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you.
8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.”
Prayer Focus: Almost universally when a prophet is called by God, he or she first offers an objection. For Jeremiah the objection is two-fold. First, I don’t know how to speak and second, I’m only a boy. What are the excuses that prevent you from answering God’s call? What is holding you back from saying “yes” to God’s path for you? Give your excuses to the Lord because the Lord has an answer for each and every one. Pray that you might especially know the Lord’s promise to be with you today and all days.
