36 Now therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city of which you say, “It is being given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence”:
37 See, I am going to gather them from all the lands to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation; I will bring them back to this place, and I will settle them in safety.
38 They shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Prayer Focus: In a surprising turn, we see the Lord switch from anger and punishment to restoration and peace. “I am going to gather them from all the lands to which I drove them.” The people were scattered by God, so only God has the power and the ability to bring them all back home. God will bring them back. God will settle them in safety. They shall be God’s people and the Lord will be their God. God is going to gather you – no matter what your sin is or may be. God is your God. Pray that you might share this hope today!
