8 Then my cousin Hanamel came to me in the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, “Buy my field that is at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.” Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.
Prayer Focus: Just as the Lord told Jeremiah, his cousin comes and tells him to buy the field. Then Jeremiah knew that it was the word of the Lord. How can we confirm that it is indeed God speaking to us? How do we know it’s the voice of the Lord instead of a desire of our own sinful heart? I suspect there have been many who convinced themselves to make a real estate investment because “the Lord wants me to have this piece of property!” Be skeptical of such claims. Seek confirmation from someone you know and trust; someone who will tell you the truth! Pray that it truly is the word of the Lord that you hear today.
