3 The letter was sent by the hand of Elasah son of Shaphan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom King Zedekiah of Judah sent to Babylon to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. It said:
4 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon:
Prayer Focus: The letter peaks the word of the Lord and is addressed “to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.” In this letter, Jeremiah says that the people are not in exile by accident or because God abandoned them. No, they are in exile because God sent them there. This can be a hard word to hear because exile is rarely where we choose to be. And yet, could it be that God has put us there for a reason? Pray that you might be open to the strange workings of God’s plans and purposes today.
