1 Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
Prayer Focus: In our final week with the prophet Isaiah, we come to the last chapter that the prophet speaks to the people while they are still in exile. It is a word of hope that begins with a call. Come! Everyone should come! And yet, it recognizes that we often make a different choice. Instead of coming to the Lord, we often choose to spend our money on that which does not nourish us and we work for things that do not satisfy our needs. Pause today and look at your budget, at your checkbook, at your credit card statement. What choices are you making with your money? Repent for poor choices and pray that God will lead you to choose life-giving purchases today and this week.
