13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
Prayer Focus: On their Exodus journey the people of Israel are punished by God with firey serpants who bit the people so that many died. As the people repent, Moses appeals to God on behalf of the people. God tells Moses to make a serpent and set it on a pole so that everyone who is bitten might look upon it and be saved. God takes something that had been destructive and turns it into something healing. The Son of Man will take the cross, a symbol of destruction and death, and turn it into a means of eternal life. Pray that you might see God’s transforming work today in your life and in the life of others.
