36 As they were going along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is to prevent me from being baptized?” 38 He commanded the chariot to stop, and both of them, Philip and the eunuch, went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
Prayer Focus: The eunuch has heard the gospel and is ready to respond. They come to some water and he asks what is to prevent him from being baptized? Philip does not demand a statement of faith; he does not gather the elders together for a session meeting. No, Philip simply goes with this one who has heard the gospel down into the water and baptizes him. The good news of the gospel requires a response. One does not hear the good news and be unaffected by it. Pray that you might respond today with faith and courage. What is preventing you?
