3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here immediately.’”
Prayer Focus: This verse either contains a code phrase for a prearranged donkey or the disciples are speaking with Jesus’ authority. Actually, both could be true. Jesus might have sent someone ahead to prepare a colt that has never been ridden for his arrival into Jerusalem. When the disciples arrive and find the colt and someone asks what they are doing, the response is “The Lord needs it and will send it back here immediately.” And yet, to speak those words, one must be vested with the authority of the Lord. Pray that Jesus might give you the words you need to accomplish the task he wants you to do today.
