Saturday, March 6: Scripture – Luke 23:40-42

40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed have been condemned justly, for we are getting what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Prayer Focus: The other criminal rebukes the first indicating that they deserve the punishment that they have received. Jesus has done nothing wrong, and yet has received the same fate. The second criminal asks that Jesus remember him when he comes into his kingdom. What does the criminal envision with that request? An ask only about the life to come – or does he too believe that Jesus will save himself from the cross with a mighty act of power to establish a kingdom here and now? What do you want Jesus to remember about you today? Pray that Jesus will remember you.
