34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
Prayer Focus: If there was ever a time to lash out at those causing pain and suffering, this would be it. Unjustly condemned; crucified on a cross; Jesus’ first words in this gospel account are “Father forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Are you holding onto pain and suffering? Are you captive to grief and grudges? Are you bound by the actions of others which prevent you from moving forward? Pray that you might know the gift of forgiveness today. Pray that by Christ’s act on your behalf you might be set free from all that binds you and prevents you from knowing joy. Pray that you might forgive so that you might be set free.
