Sunday, January 31: Scripture – Mark 1:32-34
32 That evening, at sunset, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. 33 And the whole city was gathered around the door. 34 And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
Prayer Focus: Remember how Jesus’ fame spread. Now everyone is bringing those who are sick or possessed with demons to Jesus for healing. Jesus cures and casts out. Again, this is an essential part of the inbreaking of the kingdom of God. But he does not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. The people still do not fully understand who Jesus is and Jesus wants to be very careful about his publicity team. Demons are not invited to tell others who Jesus is. The Word of God can speak for itself. Pray that you might hear the Word of God today and speak it for yourself!
