Friday, January 1: Scripture – Ephesians 1:3-6
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. 5 He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Prayer Focus: The first day of a new year. Most, but not everyone, was ready to see the year 2020 in their rearview window. But what will this new year hold? As Paul begins his letter to the Ephesians, he reminds them that God has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing. We have been adopted as God’s children through Jesus Christ. I invite you to imagine the blessings this new year will hold. Despite whatever challenges await us in this new year, there will be blessings as well. Pray for eyes to see God’s blessings for you, our church, and our community in 2021.
