Sunday Afternoons

Sunday Afternoons

At Unity, we pride ourselves on guiding the children through their journey with Jesus through the years. Here you will find more information by age and grade to help show you more about the stepping stones we help to put into place for the children’s path as they grow up in the church.

Worship & Sacraments

SECOND GRADE: Worship & Sacraments is a parent/child workshop offered on a Sunday afternoon each fall. Children are invited to bring a parent and will participate in interactive activities that expose children to the language of the sanctuary, the structure and meaning behind the parts of worship, and the wonder and mystery of the sacraments of baptism and communion. Parents will also receive resources to use with their children as they continue to guide their children in actively participating in worship with our family of faith.

Sunday, September 15th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Learning to Use My Bible

THIRD GRADE: “Learning to Use My Bible” is offered on a Sunday afternoon each fall for children 3rd grade and up with a parent. It uses interactive activities to help children navigate the Bible by learning about the types of literature in the Bible, finding book, chapter, and verse, and exploring how the Bible came to be. Children will be more comfortable using their Bible in worship, Sunday school, and at home to read the stories of our faith and grow in discipleship after participating in this program.
