Scripture – Psalm 146:5-7

5 Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God,

6 who made heaven and earth,
    the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever;

7     who executes justice for the oppressed;
    who gives food to the hungry.

Prayer Focus: As we seek to expand love by building partnerships to work for shalom and justice, we are responding to and modeling our love on the love and work God is doing among us. In these verses we hear God described as the creator of heaven and earth, as one who keeps faith forever, and one who executes justice for the oppressed and who gives food to the hungry. God’s work in the world is faithful and consistent work for justice and care of those in need. True justice is a manifestation of love. Justice is love embodied in care for “the least of these.” Pray that you might find a way to work for justice today.
