2 For the judgment you give will be the judgment you get, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye?

Prayer Focus: Jesus reminds us that we spend so much time inspecting and criticizing the smallest flaw in our neighbor that we fail to see the huge log sticking out of our own eyes. The problem is not “out there;” the problem is within our own hearts. If we seek to help our neighbor, the hard work begins first with ourselves. Pray that God will help you truly see yourself today as we seek to care for our neighbors.
