28 Then they said to him, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

Prayer Focus: The crowd seems to shift the conversation from what nourishes to what they must do. In the Gospel of John, the “work” to do is to believe in Jesus. We cannot do the work if we are not nourished by the belief. And yet, do not turn too quickly to what you can do, to the work that you can undertake. Focus this week on what is nourishing you and preparing you for the work that will come. Pray for the nourishment of your soul.
