10 “But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—”
Prayer Focus: Sometimes we think that Sabbath means not doing anything. If we just stop our work, then we are resting. As we look at this verse today however, we see there is more to the Sabbath than just stopping what we do. The day of rest is “A Sabbath to the Lord.” Meaning, we stop our work, and we are to engage practices that turn our attentions to God. Do you have a Sabbath practice that turns your attention to God? Pray today that as you rest, you will find a practice that re-centers your heart on God’s presence.
