11 But they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
for they did not cling to life even in the face of death.
12 Rejoice then, you heavens
and those who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
for the devil has come down to you
with great wrath
because he knows that his time is short!”
Prayer Focus: Today we will celebrate our high school graduates during the 11 AM service at Unity. It might seem like an odd chapter of scripture to use as part of this Graduates Sunday. And yet, perhaps G.K. Chesterton said it best “Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.” Pray for our graduates as they enter the next step in their journey of faith. Pray that they might be firm and constant witnesses to the lamb, that their word and their lives might be a testimony to God’s love and grace and peace. Pray that they might anticipate the future with hope. Pray that they might remind us that the dragons of this world can be defeated.
