8 When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 They sing a new song:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to break its seals,
for you were slaughtered and by your blood you ransomed for God
saints from every tribe and language and people and nation;
10 you have made them a kingdom and priests serving our God,
and they will reign on earth.”
Prayer Focus: When the lamb who has conquered appears and is declared worthy to open the scroll, a singing party breaks out in heaven. The four living creatures and twenty-four elders begin to sing a new song. It is a song that tells the story of the crucifixion and resurrection. It is a new song. Even in heaven those who worship sing new songs. While you and I might have our ol’ favorites to sing, open your heart and your voice to sing a new song of praise to God today!
