(When asked by several people why I chose this song as a favorite “Christmas hymn,” I thought, “Jesus IS the reason for Christmas. He was born on this day to love us!”)

“Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

When my son Ken was about five years old, he worried when bad things happened to good people. He really worried!

-When a car ran off the road, should he have warned the driver that our street had a bad curve?
-When someone got sick, was it because he hadn’t been praying for that person?

The examples are endless. Ken felt that all of these things may have happened because God was mad at him. Maybe he had done something to upset God.

Nothing Mike and I said seemed to help! We took him to see our minister, Dan Holloway. Dan took Ken by the hand and led him to a big bookshelf. He pointed to Bibles of every color and size. He showed him Bibles that were written in other languages. Then Dan said, “Ken, every one of these Bibles says that Jesus Loves YOU!”

Three simple words… Jesus Loves Me. What more could we want?

Prayer: Dear God, Thank you for this special season when we reflect on the birth of your son Jesus.
