Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”
Prayer Focus: In this verse, we read, “Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” As Jesus is saying this, Pilate hears, “you could belong too.” Jesus is standing before the most powerful man in Jerusalem, and he is extending an invitation to him. Jesus is saying, “all that I offer, love, grace, peace, belonging, I offer to you as well.” Jesus’ ministry knows no boundaries, his gifts are for all people of every nationality, every gender, and every socioeconomic status…even for Pilate. No matter how hard we try to qualify who can receive God’s love, Jesus stands before us and says all are included, even you. Pray today that as we are offered the gifts Jesus freely gives us, that we might recognize them and be a part of his ministry.
