Prayer Focus: We don’t know if Pilate is being genuine here, or if he is just trying to get some facts straight in order to wash his hands of this mock trial. Does he really want to understand who Jesus is? Or is he just trying to be done with this conversation as quickly as possible so he can move on with his day? Either way he seems to just want an easy answer that doesn’t require any more effort on his part. How often do we just want easy answers, instead of seeking the truth that will demand more of us? Pray today that we might not settle for easy answers, and instead that we might listen for God’s voice speaking to us in truth.
