What is Presbyterian Women?

Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) of more than 300,000 women. For over 200 years, Presbyterian women have organized themselves to support mission and combat social injustices nationally and internationally.

PW at Unity exists to nurture faith, build community, affirm women’s call to leadership, raise concerns and channel information to and from Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery.

PW at Unity:
  • Meets in small groups called “Circles” where faith is nurtured and growth takes place through worship, study, prayer, friendship and outreach;
  • Elects its own leadership – the Presbyterian Women Coordinating Team (PWCT);
  • Determines its own budget;
  • Plans and implements yearly programming which includes a fall Women’s Spiritual Retreat, a Ladies Luncheon, two celebration giving events and special ministries to the congregation and community;
  • Supports the mission of the PCUSA worldwide through education and financial and material gifts;
  • Preserves historical records of PW.
