Children's Ministries

Register Now for Journey to Jesus

Saturday, May 11 from 9:00-3:00

One day Day-camp for children in kindergarten - 2nd grade
Led by Middle School Youth who have attended PASSPORTkids! Camp
in the summer and want to offer a similar experience for younger children.

Consider this a Mother's Day off on Mother's Day weekend!

Cost - $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child from the same family.
All proceeds will go to support fire recovery.
Adult chaperones will oversee the youth volunteers.

Activities will include opening and closing celebrations with games, music and more, Bible Study, recreation, crafts and camper's choice activities. All children should bring their lunch. A snack of goldfish will be provided.

The Unity Nursery is designed to provide a safe and loving environment for babies and young children while their parents are participating in Worship, Sunday School and some special events. We provide nursery care during both the 8:45 am and 11:00 am Worship Services and during Sunday School (10:00 am – 10:45 am) on Sunday mornings. We also provide nursery for various special services and events on an as needed basis.

 Volunteers are typically scheduled on a quarterly basis.

Children In Worship

After the children’s message during both worship services, children who are 4 (before September 1) through 1st grade are invited to participate in a special worship opportunity. Children in Worship is a special place where children can come to encounter God, be still with God, listen to God and nurture their spiritual life. The temporary location for CIW is in the Handbell room on the 1st floor of the Sanctuary building.

New Baby Welcoming Team

We believe in celebrating each new baby at Unity. Our New Baby Welcoming Team welcomes new babies by delivering rose and a special gift to the new parents. We also coordinate with the Food Teams to provide a meal for the family when a new baby arrives.

Safe Place Policy

Unity is a Safe Place for all of God's children. Anyone interested in volunteering with children and youth at Unity is required to complete a Volunteer application, which authorizes us to complete a background check, and to attend Safe Place Training. Summer Opportunities for Children and Families

GrandsCamp - August 7-9

Grands Camp: Loving God’s Creation - August 7-9

Grandparents and grandchildren, ages 4 and up, will enjoy time together learning about and exploring God’s creation through this new intergenerational camp opportunity August 7-9 from 9:00-12:00 each morning. Invite your grandparents or grandchildren from out of town or from just down the street to join you for this exciting new adventure. Up to 2 grandchildren may attend with each grandparent. Have more grandchildren than that? Bring an additional grandparent, either related or surrogate, or contact Kathryn McGregor to find additional surrogate grandparents.

Don’t have grandparents or grandchildren who can participate with you? Email Kathryn McGregor @ to sign up to be a surrogate grandparent or grandchild for another member of our congregation.

Age for Grandchild Participants: Please note that this camp is most appropriate for children ages 4 - elementary school. There will be a limited number of slots for middle school aged youth helpers. Please email Kathryn McGregor at to inquire about youth helper slot openings.

Don’t miss out on exploring God’s love for creation and our responsibility to care for God’s creation with your grandparents or grandchildren through games, crafts, stories and more.

Registration will run from May 13-June 3.

Cost is $30 per child.

Vacation Bible School - June 21 - 23

PASSPORTkids! Camp

Registration CLOSED – Unity will take a group to PASSPORT kids! Camp at Montreat Conference Center June 30 - July 3, 2019. This fun-filled four day, three night camp is for children and youth who are currently in 3rd-6th grade.  Kathryn McGregor and other Unity adult chaperones will travel with the group to Montreat for camp.  We will stay in hotel style lodging at the conference center, where all of our meals will be eaten, except lunch on the trip there and back.  See more about what all happens at camp by watching this video on PASSPORT's website:

The cost is $335, which includes the cost of lunch on the way home on Wednesday. 

Children's Sunday School

Age appropriate Sunday school is offered each week for children 2 and up at 10:00 am. A nursery is provided for those younger than two. A team of caring adults leads each class. We seek to provide a place where children feel they belong and are important to the life of the church. In Sunday school, children learn through Bible stories and related activities. Sunday school is a place where children experience the love of Jesus Christ and learn ways to share his love with others.

Growing Christians:  GC's

Who are we?   
We are 4th and 5th grade members of Unity Presbyterian Church.
You are welcome to bring friends who are not members.
We have members who attend all the elementary schools in the Fort Mill/Indian Land area, as well as some private schools…you’ll know someone and you’ll make new friends!!!

What is our purpose? 
We are seeking to build strong relationships with Christ at the center.
We will build strong relationships with each other through faith and fellowship.
We will build strong relationships with our church neighbors through mission and service.

What do we do? 
We will spend an hour each week together building relationships with each other and our neighbors through short devotional lessons and fun games.

When and where? 
During Sunday Night Live, five weeks in the Fall and 5 weeks in the Spring.
