Study: Sharing Faith with Children

When: Tuesdays at 7:30 pm for 5 weeks (11/3 start)
This small group is for moms looking for a place to explore ways to infuse faith development and prayer in their family life to help young children grow in faith. Limited to 12 participants, we will utilize a variety of resources and share ideas. Each participant will receive “Everyday Family Faith: Simple Practices and Activities for Building Faith at Home” from the church.

THE BELHAR CONFESSION STUDY
Study: Christian Faith Against the Sins of Racism
Where: Narthex Conversation Area
When: Sundays at 5:00 pm for 6 weeks (10/25 start)
This small group of 9 participants will study the Belhar Confession, the newest confessional statement in the PC(USA) Book of Confessions. The Belhar Confession emerged from South Africa as a witness of Christian faith against the sins of racism and focuses on major theses of unity, reconciliation, and justice in the context of the church’s Trinitarian belief. Explore what it means to be confessional Church and to meet and confess our faith in the face of racism in various forms.

RUN WITH UNITY
Study: Sweaty Sheep Devotions
Where: Front circle parking lot
When: Tuesdays at 6:30 pm for 8 weeks (9/22 start)
Using the Couch to 5K app, this group will meet for a devotion and the first of three weekly workouts provided on the app each Tuesday evening for an eight week period. Participants will complete the other two workouts on their own time later in the week. Each workout lasts approximately 30 minutes, beginning with mostly walking and is appropriate for those new to running.

Join the Unity Sunday school class for a conversation about one of the lectionary scripture texts for the day. This class of adults of all ages is open to anyone interested in learning more about scripture in community with others.

Study: A Bigger Table: Building Messy, Authentic & Hopeful Spiritual Community

This class reads books together that provide discussions that connect our faith with cultural issues of the day. Participants covenant to be respectful of others’ views, to listen, and to share how they see God speaking to the church today. This class of adults of all ages is open to anyone willing to read and discuss how faith connects to our everyday life.
GOD’S GIRLS BIBLE STUDY
Study: Broken and Blessed by Jessica Lagrone (6 weeks) & Unafraid by Adam Hamilton (5 weeks)

This women’s small group has been studying scripture together for several years, beginning by using the Disciple Bible Study materials. They commit to pray for each other and study together.
TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY
Study: 1st, 2nd and 3rd John Bible Study
When: 1st Tuesday of the month at 10:00 – 11:30 am in the outside conversation area by the Narthex

This once a month, small group, women’s study will read and discuss the books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John. Participants take turns leading the lessons. Because they are meeting outside on campus, there is a limit of 15 participants. Contact Judy Cowell, if interested, to assure there is room and to receive study materials.
LADIES OF UNITY BOOK CLUB
Study: Reading a variety of fiction & nonfiction books

The Ladies of Unity Book Club chooses a different book to read and discuss each month, alternating between fiction and nonfiction. For September, participants are asked to come to discuss Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer and a beach read of your choice.
