Asheville Youth Mission

June 23-28
For rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders
Cost: $325

 Asheville Youth Mission (AYM) is a 5 day opportunity for middle school youth. Students will stay at First Presbyterian Church in Asheville, NC and will serve the local Asheville community through a variety of partnering organizations. Locations and tasks will include garden work at community gardens, preparing, serving, and sharing in meals with the homeless population, cleaning and organizing donations for clothing and shelter for the homeless and transitional population, and learning about the lives of homeless and underfed populations. There is a limit of 25 spots for this trip. The deadline to register for this trip is: April 14, 2019. Register with a $100 deposit online HERE.

Montreat Youth Conference

July 7-13
For rising 10th, 11th, 12th, and graduating seniors
Cost: $400

 Montreat Youth Conference is a 7 day opportunity for high school youth. Students will stay in the Winsborough at Montreat and participate in worship, small groups, keynote speakers, and recreation with over 1,000 other youth from around the country. The conference will provide opportunities for youth to deepen their understanding of their faith, to cultivate relationships that support their faith and discipleship, and to experience God through a very different experience of worship. There is a limit of 20 spots for this trip. The deadline to register for this trip is April 14, 2019. Register with a $100 deposit online HERE.

Trips We Recommend 

Trinity Youth Conference 

July 21-28, 2019
Cost: $315-345 (not including transportation)
For rising 10th graders through college age

Camp Living Waters in Schellsburg, PA

TYC is a youth conference for both high school and college aged youth. It is a Christian Leadership conference, totally planned and run by a Planning Team of high school and college aged youth, and supporting the leadership of all students who come. TYC is focused on intentional community-building, inclusivity, diversity, and love. While it is a similar experience to Montreat, it is on a much smaller scale (100 people in camp). Students register for this conference individually, but if a group of students from our area decide to participate, we can organize and help to split the cost of transportation.

Massanetta Youth Conference

July 16-19, 2019
Cost: $400 per person (including travel)
For rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders

Massanetta Springs Conference Center, Massanetta Springs, VA

 Massanetta is a conference for middle school youth that reflects Montreat and other high school conferences, but is built on a Middle School level. Students will have the chance to worship, listen to keynotes, participate in recreation, and immerse themselves in small groups. Students should register for this conference on our website HERE.

Bethelwoods Camp and Conference Center

Asheville Youth Mission

Actual Estimated cost per student: $428 (estimated $12,437 for 29 participants, 25 youth 4 adults)


Fundraising for the 2018-2019 school year will go to the total cost of Asheville Youth Mission. Students will not receive individual service points or funding based on participation. Students may apply for scholarships (see below) to reduce the cost out of pocket.

Montreat Youth Conference

Actual estimated cost per student:$826 (estimated total: $19,814; 20 students, 4 adults)


Fundraising for the 2018-2019 school year will go to the total cost of Asheville Youth Mission. Students will not receive individual service points or funding based on participation. Students may apply for scholarships (see below) to reduce the cost out of pocket.

Scholarship Funds

The YMT has a scholarship fund available that is supported by various members of our congregation. Students should apply for a scholarship using this application form: (add link). Applications are considered by the Youth Scholarship Team, and we consider all applications with thoughtfulness and appreciation for a variety of circumstances. Applications are due by April 14, 2019 to give the team enough time to review the application before 2019 trips.

Scholarship funding can be applied to any of our summer trips.
